The company was formed in 2004 to address the challenges facing rural communities due to lack of access to big media houses, theatre productions and film and television productions. Furthermore, to unearth talent amongst the youth to harness their creativity through edutainment and infotainment programmes.
Thereafter, Selelo Media was officially registered in 2015 and was formed to tap into indigenous knowledge system and infuse such knowledge into modern living through theatre, TV and film mediums.
Since its inception Selelo Media has played a pivotal role within various Metros and local municipalities, in Limpopo and Gauteng by training aspirant filmmakers, staging the first community screenings and engaging in circle dialogues to analyse the films to see if there was understanding of the different themes. In 2016 Selelo Media has initiated a skills development programme in Limpopo province called OSKSTIP (Old School & Skills Transfer Incubator Programme.
Selelo Media is managed by a very active & competent director with an array of skills, expertise & experience.
